This Friday, the Arab Union of Cuba (UAC) held a press conference announcing the details of the first edition of Arab Culture Week, scheduled for December 14 to 20.
This event aims to revive and disseminate Arab identity and cultural heritage in Cuba, resulting from collaboration between the UAC, the Arab Museum House, and the Green Zone Foundation (GZF) from Qatar.
During the press conference, several representatives of the organizing committee shared their perspectives on the importance of this celebration. Omayma Shiakh Eldin, GZF’s project director for Latin America and the Caribbean; Jorge Elías Gil Viant, academic director of the UAC; Yackeline Díaz Fuentes, director of the Arab Museum House; and Grettel Llabre, cultural representative, highlighted the value of the scheduled activities that will integrate literature, dance, and language.

A highlight will be the intervention of Mr. Darwish Ahmed al-Sheibani, president of GZF’s Arabic language teaching project, who will connect from Qatar via videoconference on December 18, coinciding with International Arabic Language Day.
This participation underscores GZF’s commitment to bringing the rich Arab cultural heritage to various regions of the world through language education.
